HISTORY: Kylie Lawson is the youngest of three sisters. She was barely seven years old when her mother died, her father gave up, and her oldest sister took over caring for her. Ashley took great care of both Kylie and their other sister Rebecca despite being only a teenager herself. Under Ashley's care, Kylie was able to do well in school and eventually get a scholarship for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. She was in her final year of school when the world started going down hill.
Although Kylie knows a great deal about medicine and anatomy, she is no fighter. It took her weeks of being under attack to even want to carry a weapon and a few months longer before she even became a decent shot. Even though she knew these people weren't really people any longer – that it was a “her or them” situation – she could never bring herself to be okay pulling the trigger. She was suppose to help people not kill them. If it wasn't for her family saving her life over and over, she would probably be dead by now. Most of the time she was left at whatever camp they had made for themselves or charged with looking after the children in their group.
