Risks--Open--
Daryl had agreed to head into town with Glenn. They needed supplies and although Glenn often risked his life to scavenge what he could, everyone needed back up sometimes. They had taken a car to have more room for anything they found. The ride in had been pretty silent. Car conversations were kind of a thing of the past. Concentration was more on watching for Walkers, Survivors, and road blocks. It was early morning and the air was crisp and cool on his skin. They had the windows down as the air conditioning had cut out some time ago.
It was not a very long ride. Glenn parked just at the edge of town. That way there would be nothing blocking them in. Walking side by side, the men walked into town on foot. All seemed quite at the moment. No signs of Walkers but that didn't mean anything. One loud noise and they could be surrounded. Daryl had his crossbow loaded and in his hand just in case. Glenn was going to head into the pharmacy for supplies. Daryl nodded.
A small Mom and Pop type restaurant was right next door. Daryl would start there. They could be close enough to hear each other scream if something happened and they were running low on food. Canned food made up a big part of their diet. The glass in the door was broken. Not the best sign when out looking for supplies but Daryl stepped inside anyways. There were a few bodies in here. All dead though. They had been there for well over a year and a half at east so Daryl could hard tell if they were male of female. Even after all this time, they disturbed him.
Daryl tore his eyes away from the dead and then headed for the back and towards where the kitchen should be. He moved carefully and cautiously.
