They were all tired but they had to eat. Daryl had helped clear out the yards and then retrieved his arrows. He did all of this straight faced and silently. He hated doing this but there was no choice. Not anymore. It was kill or be killed. Slinging his Cross bow back over his shoulder, he moved to help unload and then headed of to hunt. Some of the others had asked if he needed them to go along but Daryl had declined. He wasn't going too far and he could handle his own. With no visible walkers, he left the prison yards on foot and crossed a small wooden bridge before stepping into the forest. His footsteps were light and silent.
It was late in the day. The sun was getting low in the sky but that was okay. Daryl hated being in the woods after dark so he would be back ome long before the sun set. He liked the way the filtered through the trees and onto the ground. It was pretty. A little beauty in a ugly world he figured. He tossed ark hair from his eyes quickly and then moved on.
He was hoping for a deer. That would feed everyone. Lately all he could seem to find were rabbits and squirrel. He had shot a deer but a walker got to it before he could. The meat was tainted after that and Daryl shoot the Walked but left the animal. Now his blues eyes watched for movement. He saw a figure moving through the tree and took his bow into his hands. He took it as a walker but it was pretty far off so he didn't bother with it for the time being. He did glance at it every now and then however, making sure it did not get too close. Movement in fallen leaves caught his attention. Daryl aimed. A rabbit, a fat one. Daryl loved the crossbow. Silent but deadly.
