The dead wandered endlessly outside the gates of the prison. An overwhelming scent of death was lingering in what little wind blew on this fine sunny day. Shade finally had the chance to take off her hoody, it was warm but not too warm, it was just right. Unusual for Georgia, usually the weather was overwhelming, either the sun scorched the grounds or it hid and the breeze was stiff and frozen; chilling any unlucky occupant to their very core. Shade had left soon after dawn, so that she may not wake the habiting prison folk. Her training session with Robert wasn't until later this afternoon, so she had plenty of time to scavenge.
Clutching her buck knife, she stalked into the overgrown forests outside the facility. Her plan was to head to a town about 30 miles east. She'd come across it a while back, after she'd gone hunting. Unfortunately her time there was limited and she hadn't had the chance to grab anything. It was probably already heavily picked over, but who knows? Maybe she'd get lucky and find something useful. While out, Shade would grab some stuff for her new friends also. They looked in need of a little TLC, especially Mia, whom had been lost the day before. Shade had teamed up with Robert and tracked Mia to an old cabin. She was now securely inside the fenced walls of the prison, safe and sound with Robert.
That brought Shade a little security since she'd grown fond of both Robert and Mia. Even if Mia didn't know her all that well, you could get to know a lot about someone just by watching them. Even if she wasn't 'technically' in the Prison Group, wither they realized it or not they kept her safe. Especially by picking off the walkers piled around the fences, the forests weren't as infested as usual. Plus, no one wants to fuck with a large group. Not unless they've got a death wish, hanging around them was for now the safest rout for her.
Walking deeper into the forest, she pursued the desperate need for necessities. She wouldn't last long with what little food and water she had.
Hopefully this trip would be worth the journey.
